Spirit and Sports Performance Unity

Published by under Health

What are the main benefits from the unity of one’s spirit and sports performance?

The Art of Athletic Bliss Conditioning points integrated with the Bhagavad-Gita: A New Translation and Commentary quotes below answer that question.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Verse 50: “He whose intellect is united (with the Self) casts off both good and evil even here. Therefore, devote yourself to 180 mg allegra Yoga. Yoga is skill in action.”

“Here the Lord contrasts the opposing characteristics of Yoga and karma (action). Yoga is pulling the arrow back; karma is shooting the arrow forward.

One who tries to shoot the arrow without first pulling it back on the bow is said to have a poor sense of action. His shot will not be strong, and his arrow will not go far because it will not be carried forward with force. Wise in the skill of action are those who first pull the arrow back before they proceed to shoot it ahead.”

Likewise, making oneself feel as good as possible before doing AABC is like pulling the arrow back; and as the process goes forward, not putting up with weakness and pain is like the arrow’s tail feathers keeping it flying as straight as possible towards the target.

Inspired Sports and Recreation Revolution, you may recall refers to the Gita verse that defines Yoga as balance of mind which naturally leaves behind the anxiety of success and failure.

With those benchmarks set Maharishi comments below on how Yoga is also the source of energy and intelligence for skill in action.

“What is skill in action? It is the technique of performing an action so that the whole process becomes easy. The action is completed with least effort, leaving the doer fresh enough to enjoy fully the fruits of his action while at the same time remaining untouched by its binding influence. And not only this; the action is performed quickly so that the doer begins to enjoy the results immediately. Skill in action does not allow any negative influence from the outside to hinder the performance of action, nor does it produce any negative influence either upon the doer or upon anyone anywhere; on the contrary, the influence it creates is wholly positive.”

Such skill in action is both the result of Yoga and, to whatever degree one is in unity with Self (Cosmic Spirit), the propelling force to become fully established in Yoga. Thus, it is recommended “…devote yourself to Yoga.” And that is also why AABC is devoted to athletic beauty and purpose as it creates a totally positive influence on one’s sports performance.

In summary, Yoga is blissful through unity with Self. And even with just a degree of unity with Self, one’s action creates a proportionately positive influence for him or her to become more fully established in Yoga. Thus, AABC is devoted to athletic beauty and purpose to integrate bliss, in the direction of the 100% Integrated Bliss Zone, for the highest quality sports performance.
